RIP Michael Jackson 1958 - 2009

I was hoping that the shocking, unexpected news of Michael Jackson passing was all but a dream or a rumor. But when I when I woke up this morning and saw the current news I realized that it was not a dream. The King of Pop is indeed dead at the age of 50. This is just so hard for me to believe.

Even though Micheal Jackson is a lot older than me, I grew up listening to his music. He made great music and was a great dancer/entertainer. Today I watched the videos of all of MJ songs. These videos were like mini films. I just love watching Michael perform.

This week has been a sad week for Hollywood. First they loss Ed Mahaon, then Farrah Fawacett, and Michael Jackson. Ed was a great sidekick to Johnny, but I guess God decided that he needed another sidekick so he chose Ed. Farrah fought the fight. But God needed another Angel and chose one of Charlies Angel. My heart and prayers goes out to all of the beaver families. RIP Ed, Farrah, and Michael.

My First Fabric Covered Bracelet

Two weeks ago was my first time ever making a fabric covered bracelet. I must admit, they are fun to make. I'm sure I will be making more soon when I find more cute fabric. They are easy to make, but I just had a hard time getting the hooks off with the pliers.

The bracelet is listed in my etsy shop. The fabric on the buttons is dark blue with shooting stars. The buttons measure 1/2" and the bracelet measure 6 1/2 inches. Great accessory to wear with any 4th of July outfit.

I was so glad to see that I have a follower. Thanks for following me and I will be following you. I'm still new to blogging, still trying to get the hang of things around here.

The Weekend

I had a great weekend. On Friday, my niece had a birthday party/slumber party at the local hotel at the casino. Family and friends attended the party and about five of her friends spent the night for the slumber party. The party was in a suite and my sister had an extra room on a different floor so her two sons could stay. So me and my daughter slept in the room with my nephews. The bed was soooo comfy, I didn't want to wake the next morning.

After getting up Saturday morning me, Lisa, and my baby sister went to Lafayette to go spend this JCPenney gift card I had won. I really enjoyed shopping for myself, that hadn't happened in a long time. Afterwards we ate at IHOP.

On Sunday after attending church we was all sitting outside in the back yard enjoying the sunny hot weather. While sitting outside I got bored and started making some woven headbands. I made a Minnie Mouse Woven Headband and a Cherry Headband. I will be posting them soon in my etsy shop: http://www.jesscreations.etsy.com
